Six years and counting EBFRW's Sixth Annual Pride Run and Walk will be here before you know it, and we want you to be a part of it! Join us at Lake Merritt in downtown Oakland for a 10K run, 5K run, or 5K walk. Vie for a prize or ribbon, go for a personal best, or just enjoy a beautiful fun run or walk. Support our worthy beneficiaries: Alameda's Midway Shelter, Berkeley's Pacific Center, and Students Run Oakland. Help us break last year's record of 100 participants. Whatever your goal, this is the race for you. Stay after wards for coffee and refreshments, and take in the community spirit and camaraderie of the East Bay's only pride race. Every registered participant receives a pair of EBFRW socks and a goody bag. Don't miss out!

If you would like to be a course monitor, help out with registration, timing or results, work the food or water tables, or be an "athletic supporter," click here and tell us your preference. Our 5th annual Pride Run and Walk was a huge success, with 87 runners and walkers setting out around Lake Merritt on an overcast morning. Congratulations to our winners: 10K men, Jose Montoya (34:45 - event record); 10K women, Maryann Tucker (45:32 - event record); 5K run men, Thomas Setser (17:08 - event record); 5K run women, Lisa Penzel (21:31); 5K walk men, Terry Hudson (42:22); 5K walk women, Susan Holt (38:53 - event record).
