WEDNESDAY EVENING RUN/WALK.
We convene at 7:00 PM for some casual hump day exercise.
There will be no formal announcements before, and no set event afterwards. What we will have is an opportunity to unwind with friends and enjoy the bright evenings.
We alternate venues from week to week between Oakland/Lake Merritt and Alameda/Bay Farm Island.

Alameda, Bay Farm Island
Michael and Ariel welcome you to Bay Farm Island (Alameda).
From I-880 in Oakland, take the High St. exit. Head west on High Street (toward San Francisco Bay), and cross
the bridge into Alameda. Continue on High Street 1.1 miles to the stoplight at Otis. Turn left on Otis and follow
it over the bridge onto Bay Farm Island. Veer right onto Island Drive, then immediately sharp right onto Veterans
Court. EBFRW meeting place is at the end of the court, next to the bay. Free parking on street. Brunch is at La Pinata, 1440 Park, Alameda.
EBFRW meeting place is at the corner of Lakeside Drive and 14th Street, in front of the historical Camron-Stanford House, in Lakeside Park on the shore of Lake Merritt. From Broadway in downtown Oakland, take 14th Street east to Lakeside Drive and turn left. From I-880 northbound, take the Oak Street exit, and turn right; Oak Street becomes Lakeside Drive at 14th Street. (Oak Street/Lakeside Drive is one-way,
around the lake.) From I-880 southbound, take the Broadway exit, and turn right on 7th Street. Continue about 1.5 miles to Oak Street, and turn left; Oak Street becomes Lakeside Drive at 14th Street. Street parking is available; metered near the Camron-Stanford House, and free further on Lakeside Drive. Brunch is at Lynn and Lu's, 3353 Grand Ave. (at Elwood/Mandana), Oakland.

Meet at the Watergate office complex west of Chevy's restaurant.
From I-80 eastbound, exit at Powell Street; go left under the
freeway, then right at the first light onto frontage road. At the
next light, turn left, go past Chevy's, and park in the third lot to
your right, next to the bay (across from Starbucks). Meet in the
parking lot at the edge of
the bay.
From I-80 westbound, exit at Powell Street; from the westbound off-
ramp, head straight into the Watergate office complex. Go past
Chevy's, and park in the third lot to your right, next to the bay
(across from Starbucks). Meet in the parking lot at the edge of the
bay.
NOTE: Please DO NOT park in the main Chevy's lot. They may tow you away!
Brunch is at Doyle Street Cafe, 5515 Doyle Street, Emeryville.

From Grizzly Peak Boulevard (running above Berkeley along the East Bay hills), turn west (downhill) on Centennial Drive at the 4-way stop sign. Go about 100 yards downhill, then turn left on Gauss Way into the U.C. Space Science building complex; follow the access road through the first parking lot in front of the Space Science Building to the second parking lot, behind the building. EBFRW meeting place is in the second parking lot. On Saturday mornings, parking is free.
From University and Shattuck Ave in downtown Berkeley, take Shattuck north 2 blocks to Hearst, then turn right and proceed uphill on Hearst past the U.C. campus. Turn right at the stoplight onto Gayley Road. At the four-way stop sign near the soccer field, turn left (uphill) on Rimway Rd., following signs toward the U.C. Botanical Garden and the Lawrence Hall of Science. Above Memorial Stadium, turn left again (uphill) on Centennial Dr., and continue up the canyon past the tennis courts, the Botanical Garden, and the Lawrence Hall of Science. Near the top of the hill, turn right on Gauss Way into the Space Science Building complex and proceed to the second parking lot. Total distance from Gayley Road to Gauss Way is 1.8 miles.
Directions from Contra Costa to Strawberry Canyon:
Take Highway 24 west past Orinda, and exit on Fish Ranch Rd., just before the Caldecott Tunnel. Turn right at the end of the ramp, and go up the hill about 3/4 mile to the four-way stop sign. Turn right on Grizzly Peak Blvd., and proceed about 3 miles to another four-way stop sign. Turn left on Centennial Dr., then an immediate left on Gauss Way into the Space Science Building complex. Proceed to the second parking lot
Brunch is at Chester's Bayview Cafe (in Walnut Square), 1508 Walnut (at Vine), Berkeley.

From Downtown Oakland: Take Hwy. 24 east through the Caldecott Tunnel, Orinda and Lafayette to the Pleasant Hill Rd. exit. Head south, and follow Pleasant Hill Rd. about ¾ mile until it ends at Olympic Blvd. Turn right; the entrance to the parking lot is immediately on your right.
From Walnut Creek: Follow Hwy. 24 west. Take the first exit, Pleasant Hill Rd. Head south, and follow Pleasant Hill Rd. about ¾ mile until it ends at Olympic Blvd. Turn right; the entrance to the parking lot is immediately on your right.
